» NEW INTERVIEW: "Colin Egglesfield: Soap Opera Heart Throb and Entrepreneur" • September 28th, 2008
By day, he’s a heart throb on a popular soap opera. Actor Colin Egglesfield plays Erica Kane’s son, Josh Madden on “All My Children”. But at night Egglesfield is building his amazing business, Shout Out Tees or he’s tutoring high school kids.
What exactly are Shout Out Tees? Think of them as tees that make the ultimate statement. The t-shirts have a fuzzy area on the front and back where the person wearing it can change up their message as they choose! The tees come with a bag of letters, symbols and numbers that you use just like fridge magnets, only velcro is what allows you to take them on and off. Stars including Ashley Tisdale , Tia Carrere , Seal and many more have been spotted rockin’ Egglesfield’s Shout Out tees!
Colin and I spoke on the phone this week and I have to say, it was interesting to get a glimpse into his life as a soap star and an entrepreneur. » READ MORE...

» News from the AMC luncheon • September 1st, 2008
Lisa from Justin-Bruening.net sent me a great e-mail about the AMC luncheon. She told me that there were 300+ people at the luncheon that were upset over Colin being bumped to recurring, because they want to see more Josh on the show. Colin really got the crowd going by jumping around, doing cartwheels on the stage, climbing chairs, and just getting the entire crowd cheering for more Josh. He encouraged everyone to write in. Beth Ehlers (Taylor Thompson) also mentioned that Colin has been approached by other soaps. You know what that means, guys! We'll lose him if you don't KEEP WRITING IN TO TPTB!!! Imagine if every fan of Josh wrote at least one letter to TPTB... That would make a HUGE impact. Don't assume that they won't listen to you, or that your one letter won't count. If everyone thought their one letter wouldn't make a difference, that would be hundreds of letters not being sent. So do your part to keep him on the show!

» Colin promoting Shout Out! Clothing at Uber Baby • September 1st, 2008
"All My Children" star Colin Eggelsfield, a T-shirt entrepreneur, arrived at Über Baby a marked man.
Don't think for a nanosecond that Susan Lucci, who plays his mother, the nefarious Erica Kane, on the long-running ABC soap, had anything to do with this one. As well she shouldn't, since the marked man was wearing a hickey on his neck.
Eggelsfield was in the metro to promote Shout Out!, his line of T-shirts with ever-changing message possibilities, at Über Baby in Edina's Galleria. In addition to unique baby-related products, Über Baby specializes in unusual gifts for parents, too.
Dan Gonsior, who co-owns Über Baby outposts with his wife, Lynne, was kind enough to point out the hickey.
Eggelsfield met the Gonsiors at a New York City international gift show. Egglesfield said he hit it off with Dan because they both share the same goofy sense of humor; the guys interact like siblings. Lynne has a sense of humor too, as she was wearing one of Eggelsfield's T's with the message "I'm With the Other Stud."
Although Egglesfield told me he put makeup on the passionate tag, the ultimate cover was provided by his hand and ducking and weaving, as you see at startribune.com/video. Eggelsfield suggested that he got the hickey from a flight attendant. In lieu of a pillow? Yeah right. More likely Eggelsfield got it from a Swedish supermodel whose name begins with the letter M.
Moving on to more wholesome matters, Eggelsfield said, "Being an out-of-work actor in Los Angeles, you get very creative. I had to come up with something to support my acting habit."
When he was doing a movie in Thailand he saw a T-shirt similar to the product he produces. "I thought it could be done better," he said "and a few years later here we are."
Although he's got to be making good money on "All My Children," Eggelsfield likes having his own business, which the soap supports in an unexpected way. "'The View' films across the hall from 'All My Children.' I've been able to give" T-shirts to "View" guests, for a little cross-promotional action.
" 'All My Children' has been an amazing place to not only work but promote the T shirts," said Eggelsfield.
Think of how many more he could sell if buyers went away with hickeys.

» Spoilers for upcoming Josh storyline • August 29th, 2008
From SoapNet.com: It seems as if the only married couple in town not having problems may be Ruth and Joe (Ray MacDonnell), since Zach's (Thorsten Kaye) a no-show at the Bella party. Things are strained with Kendall (Alicia Minshew) big time, and once he learns that $20 million has been embezzled from his company, his eyes immediately turn towards Josh (Colin Egglesfield) as the culprit. Needless to say, Zach's not happy, and Josh is scared he'll be whacked. This really doesn't help Kendall and Zach's marital problems.
---------------------
I don't like the sound of that... I'm hoping they're not setting the stage to get rid of him. I can't stress enough how very important it is for you all to keep writing in to TPTB over at AMC. Trust me, every letter/e-mail you send makes a difference. It may seem like a very ambitious goal, but soap operas are in a very critical state right now. Their ratings are suffering every week and they realize this, which is why they are listening to the fans' opinions more than ever. So let them know how you feel!!

» Comment & article about his drop to recurring status • August 7th, 2008
I've heard from a very reliable source that Colin was told by the head producer that he has been dropped to recurring status because "the test audiences just can't accept the reversal of the Erica Kane abortion". I know fans have complained about the reversed abortion storyline and I can understand that, but I don't think this should have any effect on how people feel about the character in particular, regardless of how he got there. He's there now, and we have an amazing actor playing a very interesting character with powerful connections on the show. From what I've seen, a lot of people really love watching Colin play Josh, so I think it would be a mistake on the part of the TPTB to try to "hide" that reversed abortion storyline by sweeping it under the rug and pretending like Josh doesn't exist. He has a lot of fans, in spite of how some feel about how he got there, and we shouldn't lose a great character because of his origin. The reversed abortion has happened, so let's accept that and enjoy the wonderful character we got from it. There are amazing storyline opportunities awaiting him! A note to anyone writing letters to TPTB: Let them know the reversed abortion storyline has no effect on how you feel about Josh in particular - you want him on, no matter how he got there.
Article: 'All My Children' Drops Colin Egglesfield to Recurring
All My Children has called off future plans for Colin Egglesfield, who presently portrays the highly controversial Joshua Madden on the drama. According to Soap Central, the 35-year-old actor has been taken off his contract, consequently being dropped to recurring status.
Egglesfield joined All My Children as the second actor to play Joshua, following the departure of Scott Kinworthy in 2005. The character was initially the subject of controversial abortion storyline back in the early 1970s, having been the fetus in which the abortion was centered. When the abortion storyline was rewritten to not have been an abortion after all, controversy ensued again, as viewers felt that it was an undoing of a groundbreaking event in television history. Although this storyline created buzz for several months, Joshua's storyline gradually dried up. Most recently, he was featured having a one-night stand with Greenlee Smythe (Rebecca Budig).
There is no word yet from the network on the reason why Egglesfield is being taken off the contract. Nevertheless, a show spokesperson reveals that Egglesfield will not have a final airdate and will continue to appear on All My Children on “an as-needed basis.”
Aside from All My Children, Egglesfield appeared on several popular television shows such as Law & Order: SVU, The $treet, Gilmore Girls, Charmed and Nip/Tuck. In the big screen, he was also cast in the 2005 movie Must Love Dogs and starred opposite Brooke Langton in the drama Beautiful Dreamer.
Meanwhile, Colin Egglesfield is currently filming the romantic comedy The Good Guy, which will be released in theaters in 2009. The movie, which is described as a fun fresh take on love, trust, friendship and betrayal, also stars Alexis Bledel, Scott Porter, Andrew McCarthy, Bryan Greenberg, Anna Chlumsky, Aaron Yoo, Trini Alvarado and Ursula Abbott, just to name a few.

» An idea • August 5th, 2008
Firstly, C-E.com is now affiliated with Alexa-Havins.com. Secondly, I've thought of a way you can support both Colin's clothing line and Josh Madden. If you purchase a shirt from Shout Out! Clothing or already own one, spell out "SAVE JOSH MADDEN" on the shirt, take a photo of yourself, and send it with a letter to the powers that be at AMC (addresses can be found here). I think it could be a nice way to show your support for Josh, while also supporting Colin's clothing line. Just an idea. :)
